THE INVISIBLE ESSENCE

Andreas Staeger: »With his photographic work Nicolaisen seeks to detect hidden artifacts and provide them with a platform. Reality is richly expanded, however, at first glance, nothing is obvious. His images encourage a second, more considered glance, scattered light serving as the main instrument of attraction. In his photographic work, Nicolaisen sees himself as an intensifier who connects two poles; the creative process of interpretation and optical processing applied to the permanence of the object: unspoiled nature, often in the form of ice.«
