Strata of Pilbara, 2020
Explanation by Prof Martin Van Kranendonk, UNSW, Sydney
North Pole Dome drilling, Western Australia
In my new project „Strata of Pilbara“, I delve deeply into one of the oldest stone structures on our planet. Professor Martin Van Kranendonk has been researching the Pilbara for over 20 years and gives us details from an exciting and mysterious past, from a time when our planet was young.
The groundwork that Martin Van Kranendonk and Kathleen Cambell have drawn from the work and insights gained from the North Pole Dome geoscientific program in Pilbara, provides the scientific community with evidence and at the same time stimulates human imagination.
The collaboration with the team has greatly inspired me and is the starting point for my two new series of works.
